SLO South County ARES Member Stations:
ARES Level 2 (intermediate) members may apply to become RACES operating stations.
Regular Stations:
are not SLO South County ARES members
hold a valid FCC Amateur Radio License and operate within their privileges
reside within the SLO South County Area or an adjacent area in the absence of an assigned AEC within their home area
must request addition to the roll as a regular station
must check in to the South County net at least once every six weeks via repeater or Winlink to remain on the roll call or they will be designated as a visiting station
may request a signal report during check-in
are encouraged to complete ARES and FEMA training
may participate in exercises but do not participate during emergency activations
are encouraged to become ARES member stations
Visiting Stations:
are not SLO South County ARES members
hold a valid FCC Amateur Radio License and operate within their privileges
are not required to be local residents
are encouraged to check in during the visitor check-in period of the weekly nets
should always give their full call sign using ITU phonetics and their first name and location
may request a signal report during check-in
are not required to submit any forms or complete ARES or FEMA training
will be logged and added to the visitor roll
will be removed from the roll and log if they don't check in for an arbitrary period
do not participate in exercises or emergency activations
